The importance of stimulation

I live in a pretty limited town in the french Alps, don't get me wrong it is an inspiring place to live but the handful of shops we do have either sell dried sausage, or sports gear. There are no art institutes to visit or theaters or classes to attend, I mean I get excited at the prospect of going to do my food shopping somewhere that has more than two aisles.

I recently have returned from a quick weekend back in the Uk where I made my sister visit Liberty of London and my new favorite shop Anthropologie which I understand is an American store.

I was amazed at the colors, textures, shop layout, shop fittings, displays, in fact I was bowled over by the whole experience, had I not been with my sister I probably would have stayed there till the staff kicked me out at closing time.

That night I didn't sleep well i woke at 5.46 am and to coin phrase from my 7 year old nephew..."I had ideas cuing to get out of my head"

There is nothing more important to a persons creativity than stimuli, if you aint getting it where you are you're gonna have to travel for it.

I'm already planning another trip back to london with the girls from my craft group to triple the input and have three other points of view to feed from. I can't wait!

Sammi I am with you 100%! I live in the backwoods also and a trip to the city is very inspiring for me. I can only imagine how exciting a trip to London is! Do you get to Paris often?

Its actually easier for me to go to london believe it or not and as the family are there I can kill 2 birds with one stone.
And I agree their candles are awesome and was on my mind to buy one before I left but I forgot...doh!

I love the look of anthropolgie but it is so darn expensive!

I agree with Holly- their candles are amazing, I have one of their volcano candles burning in my office right now :)
